Compatible devices

SplendoMonitor connects over Bluetooth to sensors and machines from other manufacturers, and the app makes them work as one system: guided setup, one timeline, one report.

Why it works this way

A traditional metabolic lab is a closed system: one vendor's cart, one vendor's software, one room. It works, and it costs about eight times what the sensors do, which is why these assessments have stayed inside high-performance and clinical research labs.

SplendoMonitor takes the opposite approach. It speaks to metabolic analyzers, heart rate monitors, tissue saturation sensors and ergometers from different manufacturers over Bluetooth, and stitches their signals into a single assessment with one timeline and one report. It also guides the setup of each one, which is what makes a mixed set of devices practical to run.

Everything below is either documented step-by-step in the SplendoMonitor user manual or noted as coming soon. Nothing is listed as supported because it ought to work.

Breathing and gas exchange

Wireless and wearable breath analyzers measure the oxygen consumed and the carbon dioxide produced, breath by breath. This is what makes VO2max, resting metabolic rate and substrate utilization measurable rather than estimated.

  • VO2 Master Analyzer

    Breath-by-breath oxygen uptake and ventilation

Integrated configuration and calibration routines. Ideal for high performance aerobic and anaerobic testing.

    Setup instructions in the manual
  • Calibre

    Breath-by-breath gas exchange and ventilation

Easy to use use, portable, and accurate. Ideal for field testing and research.

Heart rate

Tracks how hard the cardiovascular system is working through the protocol, and anchors the recovery interval.

  • Polar Verity Sense

Optical heart rate from the upper arm

    Setup instructions in the manual
  • Polar H10

Electrode-based heart rate from a chest strap

Reads the heart's electrical signal rather than using an optical sensor, which is why chest straps of this type are the usual reference for heart-rate accuracy.

    Setup instructions in the manual
  • Myzone Switch

Heart rate from a chest strap, upper arm or wrist

Can be moved between positions, so one device covers subjects who cannot wear a chest strap.

    Setup instructions in the manual
  • Any Bluetooth heart rate monitor

    Coming soon

Heart rate over the standard Bluetooth heart-rate profile

Support for the generic profile means chest straps and watches you already own, without waiting for a per-model integration.

Tissue saturation

Shows how much oxygen the working muscle is actually extracting, the part of the oxygen cycle that heart rate and breath alone cannot see. Also called muscle oxygenation.

Exercise machines

In-app instructions for multiple modalities and automatic resistance control on supported ergometers.

  • Wattbike Atom and Proton

Power, cadence and full resistance control

Full ergometer control: the app sets resistance for ramp tests, so the ramp runs to the protocol rather than to a stopwatch.

    Setup instructions in the manual
  • Assault Fitness Airbike

Power and cadence read out from the machine

Data readout only. The app records what the bike reports but does not set its resistance.

    Setup instructions in the manual
  • Any FTMS fitness machine

    Coming soon

Power, cadence and speed over the standard Bluetooth fitness-machine profile

FTMS is the standard most modern bikes, treadmills and rowers already speak.

Getting the hardware

The software is a flat fee per assessment, so you only pay for what you use. The sensors and machines you buy directly, from us or from anyone else. There is no bundled kit you have to take, and nothing leased from us to give back.

Buy from our store

Our store sells sensors and assessment credits, so a team starting from zero can get everything in one place.

Or bring your own

If your lab, clinic or gym already runs any of the equipment above, connect it and start assessing. Generic Bluetooth heart rate and FTMS machine support will widen this further.

Pay as you go

A flat fee per assessment, so you only pay for what you use. No capital equipment beyond the sensors, and no lab build-out.

Setup is documented

Every supported device has a full appendix in the user manual covering power on, connection, configuration, calibration and placement, sensors and machines alike.
